It gets to be said
that we, all of us here, are fighting for survival. Fighting towards happiness,
towards love and success and fulfillment of all kinds.
We are, as it gets to
be said, the sum of our experiences.
All experiences, all molecules
of moments and memories, all pressed and formed – collided and comprised to
make one singular being.
And we get to be, as
it gets to be said, those experiences in any way shape or form we decide.
Of course – some things
are not universal. Like justice, or karma, fairness. Once resigned to that fact
– life becomes a lot more simple. A lot more understandable.
Determining motive –
that’s a challenge. Determining desire – near impossible.
The human condition is
survival. Protection. The best and only ways we know how.
So sometimes you get
to resign to the fact, that alongside the lack of universal justice and
fairness, there are also times when you don’t get to pick the outcome, or even
understand it.
Character is based on
action. So when someone asks you something, and you choose to lie – whether it
be conscious or unconscious – your character is shown. Instinct says survive –
get what you want – manipulate. It’s motivation – sure. It’s desire – sure.
But character? No no.
you don’t get to have any of that. Not at first, nope.
It’s how you act
after, when confronted, that determines and demonstrates your real character. Who
you really are – what really drives you.
If you become
accountable – acknowledge that yea. What I did was shitty. I made a shitty
choice. I put myself in a shitty position – but I am SORRY. I am accountable. I
was wrong. I am making it right.
THAT’S CHARACTER.
If you continue to lie
– you’re lacking the very fundamental principles and morals of someone that I
want in my life.
So no. I’m not an evil
bitch who just writes people off without explanation.
I am a civil person
who gives people the chance to show their character, when faced with a shitty
situation.
It gets to be said
that You made your choice.
And you’re damn right
it gets to be said that I made mine.
