It's only a fluke that my #100daysofhappiness challenge ended on Halloween. We didn't plan it that way. But it ended in a dramatic fashion as I took 3rd place in the costume contest at work for my portrayal as the crazy cat lady.
It's no secret to anyone that I love my cat more than I love 99.9% of everything and everyone else. For one, I've had her for 19 years (so I've known her longer than any of my friends/chosen family) and for two, she's the one true stable constant in my life. She's nothing but pure love. So it's really no secret that I AM crazy cat lady. Today I just got to embrace more of the crazy side :)
The costume came complete with laser cat t-shirt, small kittens woven into my disheveled hair, bathrobe, slippers and a stuffed cat in a pumpkin costume. (Yes the same one from that picture of Smokey). I also had a bag of 'treats' I was offering people, that was actually a bunch of cat threats, which amused me greatly. Below is a picture of me as the cat lady with my pet raccoon.
It was a real fun day at work, nothing beats getting to hang out in my pjs all day.
It has been a journey, these 100 days. Me and Charlene started the challenge at ball one night and I can say save for two or three days, I found a way to capture a piece of happiness every day in picture form. I think I might make a collage out of the pictures too, for keepsakes.
And you know, after repeating something 12 times it becomes a habit. So I'm in the habit now of seeking out happiness every day, and that's a beautiful thing.
