Pants Vs. Agism

is it wrong that I LOVE to play crib?
I'm also a big fan of hearts. and other card games normally associated with retirement homes.
I can't help it though. when I was a wee lass my parents were those crazy hippy type parents who didn't shove us in front of a television but instead encouraged this insane notion called "Family Time"
wherein we would you know, actually socialize.
bless my parents for dealing with me and my siblings. lord knows if they put the three of us together in a room now and were all HEY. DO SOMETHING TOGETHER. WITHOUT MURDERING EACH OTHER.
unlikely to happen.
we used to have crib tournaments. and I remember rarely winning. even to this day, I'm not a very good crib player. I don't have the strategy down, and I more often than not regret throwing away 7's but somehow never learn. but it's a great game. my dad and step mum play every morning they're together. they even track their wins and losses. which I think is probably the sweetest thing in the history of the entire world. an can only hope one day to spend morning coffee with my life mate skunking the shit out of them.
really, that's all a girl can hope for.

in other news. they're coming by to test my fire alarm at 8:30. IN THE FUCKING MORNING.
that wouldn't seem so bad considering that I work nights. but at 8:30 in the morning, I'm passed out with my face in a pillow drooling the day away. so the knowledge that I now have to stay awake waiting for these douchecanoes has put a damper on my otherwise cheery disposition.
