It was one of those days that start off too early, but the sun is up and therefore, so are you. You rub your sleepy eyes and debate just a few things. The time, the option to sleep, the fleeting seconds where you debate canceling your entire days plans just to stay in bed and catch up on your Dawkins (because despite the nine books you already have on the go, the conversation you had yesterday with a seemingly dense parts girl turned into a rather intense conversation about the god delusion and you spent half your night digging through boxes and boxes of books until you found it and determine you must re read it to make sure your points where valid)
But alas, a pretty face and the promise of tuna tataki pulls you from the sheets and you make an effort to be a semi functioning human being before 8 am. It's decided, then, that caffeine is no longer a luxury you rarely partake it any longer, and has moved on to a full out necessity if you're going to make the 2 hour drive without snoring. But you make the trip, and make new friends, and remember how easy it is to fit back together with someone you once thought lost - a casualty of war. She smiles, you smile. Reminisce. Laugh. And before the moments are lost you catch a glimpse of the valley were you both once spent those old adolescent youth moments stoned and happy and carefree.
The day turns to rain, to soaked feet and too many cigarettes, it turns to random shopping and "did I lock my car? Shit. Did I lock my car?!"
To spinning wheels and winning candles, to lazy afternoons returned home to catch up on chores and be happy, happy despite the early hours, despite the inevitable too much sushi feeling, all to turn to bed. A perfect reminder, a perfect place to catch some sleep.
