The stink of camp fire is all over me. It's always been a smell that I both equally hate and love.
Love because most of my favorite moments happen around a camp fire. A few drinks down the hatch, great friends, great conversations, sometimes a little guitar here and there. There's a truth about people that you find when you share that space with them. The sun setting, smoke stinging your eyes, the flames and the glow and just the sense of peace that it brings me. I love nights like tonight. Hard fought with my best friends, laughing and reminiscing and just enjoying life. It really and truly doesn't get any better.
And to mention, I hate the smell because it lingers in my hair, on my skin, in my clothes for days and days. And even though it's a nice reminder of nights like tonight and the pure happiness I feel, I still sometimes wish it would dissipate much faster.
I currently have a tiny bitten bugging me for attention. I can't wait to spend some quality time curled up with her and my book and my thoughts. Sounds like just about a perfect weekend to me.
